Aside from the homage to the suffragettes, it's a "look at me" color. It's the kind of thing Miss "Look At Me!" Governor Nikki "Look at ME!" Haley, did, too. She made sure to dress in glaring white during those proceedings involving the ultimate removal of the hate rag from the South Carolina capitol grounds. She dressed so the camera, and the eye, would spot her in a crowd without even trying.
