Auspicious?

Okay, so I caved. Decided to at least watch the parade. So there he was, standing on the steps. And the military band starts up with a traditional march, and as they marched by him in the drizzle these lyrics emerged from memory:

"Be kind to your web-footed friends, for a duck may be somebody's mother. Be kind to your friends in the swamp, where the weather is very, very damp..."

I was hoping for a real gully-washer of a downpour, with an apocalyptic bolt of lightning and thunderclap just as he put his hand on the bible.
