Williams was desperately trying to marginalize the protest by pretending to be all breathless and shocked that speakers and those attending the protestd used actual profanity. He was totally upset that Madonna referred to Trump as a "dick" on live TV and proclaimed that now the whole protest movement is dead and people would be turned off by hearing bad words. He declared no one would pay any attention to them now.

He asked Lawrence O'Donnell to comment, clearly expecting to get his agreement that the protests were dead now because naughty words were spoken aloud. Lawrence laughed at him and then cleaned his clock. He said all protests are like that, and today's so called bad words are heard on regular TV shows all the time, and no one needs smelling salts anymore.
