Like I told IronLionZion, whenever I hear "National Guard" and "protesters" in the same sentence, I think "Four dead in Ohio." I realize things are different now, though.

from bad people who deliberately attack large crowds of people. They are not there to shoot the protesters. They are there to keep order if anarchists or neo nazi groups or anyone else starts violence.

The DC national guard was cheering us on today too. It was comforting to see them there because ours is very diverse and has lots of women.

I've been to a lot of marches and found there is usually some nuts, anarchists and provocateurs who show up at major marches. They suck and cause problems, which is why I am glad to see cops or other security along the route. The L.A. march today was kinda scary because the crowd was SO much larger than expected that there were way too few cops. But thank goodness the immense crowd stayed peaceful and the cops stayed professional. It was actually an amazingly friendly vibe, much like what you see in the OP's video.

I grew up watching things like the Kent State shootings, so when I read that the Guard was brought out for a protests, I automatically think it's because the people in charge have it out for the protesters. It can be hard to change that mindset.

Maybe the National Guard troops were just being nice, but Trump seems to not even have the support of the military. I think that is pretty bad for a President.

Especially as its gotten more diverse and has more women than it used to. Trump does not have much support. Bernie and Hillary got the majority of active duty donations.

"This is what happens when women organize things."

Reminds me of an old joke (you've probably see it):

What would have happened if it had been three Wise Women instead of three Wise Men at the Nativity?
They would have stopped to ask directions,
and arrived on time,
helped deliver the baby,
cleaned the stable,
made a casserole,
and brought practical gifts.
They would have asked Mary if there anything they could do,
and they would have stayed in touch!
