Democracy will die unless we can force the press to do its job. This alternate reality and denial of the facts is killing the country. Living in this "Alice In Wonderland" atmosphere is why we have Trump in the first place. The MSM has to be challenged. If anything the demonstrations should have also been aimed at the media.

Somehow Fox has to be minimized, shut down or silenced. It is NOT a legitimate organization. It is a network that is really seditious when you get right down to it. Fox has done more damage to the country than the terrorists.

2. Just About Everywhere You Go Fox News Is On The Television.

Go to any major hotel chain. Go to public places where the TV is on and it is either Fox News or CNN or CNBC. Occasionally it will be on MSNBC. The morning shows on ABC, CBS or NBC are just lame infotainment. And the news is usually GOP memes.

Add local talk radio that has 95% of the air waves. All there is is local RW radio or sports. We are drowning in alternative reality.
Progressive radio was pretty much snuffed out since Obama was first elected.

3. Last night CNN and MSNBC both used the word Liar

when speaking of Trumps attempt to change the facts about the "huge" turnout for his inauguration, they went on to show the great turnout in the Women's March. I am still in a sort of shock as to how many millions of women marched to protest the abuse of their human rights by the Trump people and the Republicans. Both CNN and MSNBC both stood up to Trump for his horrible speech at the headquarters of the CIA, using the backdrop of the fallen agents wall of stars to promote how wonderful he is. I remain shocked at this sudden turn of events and happy to see it come.

5. The way around this is to ignore the media

that bows down and support the media that fights back. If you have subscriptions to newspapers and they don't do their job, send a note along about why you're canceling your subscription and then subscribe or read something that's doing real news.

For example, on Facebook Dan Rather started a page called News & Guts. Their goal is to present "real" news. So far I've liked what I've seen there.

I've also stopped watching the 24/7 news channels.

I am not going to waste my time on channels and papers that refuse to do their jobs.

It's very rare that Todd actually goes after someone when they blatantly lie. He needs to know that people support this instead of letting alternatives facts.

Which a lot don't, then we should hold them accountable. They are supposed to present facts--and call out propaganda as they would if it came from another country.

That said, don't like these kind of threads, trash them, don't whine about it in the thread you hate.

10. I normally just don't respond to the threads. Rather than everybody saying "the media" you should

be more specific about exactly whom is not doing their jobs and when. I always don't agree with the coverage and often am yelling out ..ask this or ask that...I'm sure if I was a journalist..nobody would want to talk to me. Also the coverage I saw was overwhelmingly negative about Trashpot...problem is the volume...before one story could sink in there was another one. They are going to cover negative no matter who it's about so yes Hillary's email server and the Wikileaks garbage fit into that nicely.

So just like Trashpot and his followers are trying to delegitimize the press -- so is the left now...look common ground LOL! The only channel that I see who is not doing their job on a daily basis is FOX News.

13. We Would Not Have Trump Had They Done Their Job.

The email supposed scandal should have been dead and discounted. The media could have killed it immediately. The email "scandal" was a complete myth. The media constantly lets the GOP put out its meme without challenge. And Democrats are allowed to get pilloried and talked over all the time. Even hosts refrain from telling RW and GOP shills to just STFU when they are interrupting.

If we had the media we had during the Cronkite and Reynolds days we would be in a better position. The media types sure went after Obama when he tried to go after Fox News. Yet they sat silent during the Trump press.

At least there are some good signs lately.

15. The Media Carried The Email Story For 18 Months Non Stop.

Plus they allowed negative stories about Hillary to flourish when they should have been killed. She was demonized 24/7. They could have kicked back and questioned crap on the spot. Yet they stayed silent and let memes just hand out there.
