Sorry, but nothing matters anymore. The USA as we all knew it is over.

So 3 million people marched yesterday. So what. John freaking McCain announced that he'll vote for Tillerson. Trump is moving the US Embassy to Jerusalem. Trump is already starting to dismantle the Affordable Care Act. Every one of Trump's God awful picks for his cabinet will pass. Congress is moving full speed ahead on dismantling Social Security, Medicare, and Medicaid. Do you really think that Chaffetz committee is going to do any serious investigation of Trump in any reasonable time span? They will be too busy re-re-re-re-re-re investigating the Clinton Foundation, Hillary's email server, and Benghazi to have time to do anything else. Smoke and Mirrors, smoke and mirrors.

We've got climate-change deniers throughout the Cabinet and Congress has already changed the rules so that the 640 million acres of Federal Land is now considered worthless, so they can sell it off at fire-sale prices for oil and gls drilling and not affect the budget.

And what does our vaunted MSM want to talk about? They hardly mention 'the man (well men and women, actually) behind the curtain. No, they want to beat up on Kellyann or Rence - folks who have no real power to affect policy - about the fact that Trump's Press Secretary told a laughable lie about how many showed up for the inauguration!

They will eventually get around to impeaching Trump, blame everything on him, and tell us that they and President Pence will 'turn things around'. And by the time 2018 rolls around and a new Congress gets sworn in, it will be just too damn late.

Talk about your freaking smoke and mirrors! They aren't even bothering with the bread and circuses.

overnight?

The resistance began yesterday, and needs to continue, just like the battle for civil rights, hell that took a hundred years and is still ongoing

Yeah, we are going to have to relight the battles of the 50s and 60s, so you better dig in for a long fight

This election was a generational event, and it will take a long time to undo the damage

Donate to the ACLU, planned parenthood, and other advocacy groups, either money or time

call and write your representatives

If you have the motivation run for local public office

There are a lot of battle fronts

but expect a very long ordeal

I fought in the damn battles of the 50s and 60's. I marched, I registered voters. I stared down National Guardsmen in Columbus Ohio the day after the Kent State Shooting. I protested the Viet Nam War. I've been a card carrying member of the ACLU for 40+ years. I've phone banked and canvassed. I've given rides to help folks get to their polling place.

And I've watched us go backwards. And now we have Trump in the White House and the Grand Oligarchy Party controlling both house of Congress and set to get at least 2 Supreme Court Justices, and they are all set to finish destroying our planet.

I am watching them destroy MY Social Security - both financially and socially, gut the Medicare that keep me alive, and get rid of the Medicaid that I very well might need. And I am just so bloody tired of fighting a battle that can't be won.

Oh, and I have tried writing my Representatives. ROFL! I live in bloody Kentucky where we just managed to throw out the Dems at the state level for the first time in 50 years so now the GOP controls the the levers of power here as well. The very first act of our new Gov to get rid of KYNECT - the state run exchange for the ACA and tell the feds 'you run it'.

Yeah, I'm depressed. Call me an Eyore if you want. I've been depressed since election night and I just don't see any reasonable path back that doesn't involve more bloodshed that I can comprehend. As I have said before, we may solve the problem of global warming with a nuclear winter.

while my body is in pain and my voice is gone. I'll be calling 202-335-3121 tomorrow and following the 100 days of action. Furthermore I call REpublican assholes because my Senators are Blue....

It's really easy to look up zip codes around the country. Do you know anyone in another red state??? Use theirs.

I'm not going to crawl under a rock and cry about it....you need to stop just talking about it and be about it.

First comes the inspiration, which was what you saw on Saturday.

Then people will be motivated to join groups and seek out avenues to exercise their civic obligations.

This is a mess decades in the making. It's going to take a long time to dig ourselves out of this terrible hole. But we have to start somewhere.

Honestly, we have some dark days ahead. But we cannot forget what our core values are and we cannot stop fighting for them. When we give up, that's when they will have truly won. Previous generations faced the Cold War, WWII and WWI among other things. My great-grandparents and grandparents survived the Great Depression.

We've faced evil before and we will do so again. We have to work together and support one another.

the Military Industrial Complex. It has been downhill every since. You just don't see the pretense anymore. Now it is raw, in your face disparity.

Hell people build up reputations as rich criminals and then become governor of red states! This is nothing new, we've watched it go on for over 30 years now. Reagan helped it along by selling as much of the country as he could to foreign investors.

Certainly you are not just now coming to the conclusion the USA is over..."9/11 changed everything". Remember? That wasn't just words...they meant it with laws and actions.

in spite of protests, which I attended most of in my city....mocking him by the comedians, the celebrities, musicians - etc...

Like Bush, Trump is not going anywhere he has the full support of a corrupt GOP congress who is more interested in retaining power than doing right by the American electorate.... who did not vote for them.

The time to protest was in November but many chose to stay home or vote 3rd party.

Only the CIA will be able to damage this asswipe - the FBI will not, they helped install him.

Whether it's women's rights, immigrants rights, political reform, eviromental protection--whatever calls to you. Get involved. If you are already involved, talk it out with your co-activists.

My rights are threatened, the rights of my daughters are threatened. I'm not going to give up, b]because a lot of things really do matter.

And..Take good care of yourself

* Aside from all the real policy points cited as being overlooked, there's still room for beating up on PRIEBUS and CONWAY among all the other Junta.

* "bread & circuses" - those have been in play forever (SuperBowl, anyone? Cheap gasoline?).

After the demonstrations is the gritty, non-glamorous work: Voting Rights, registration, turnout. Targeting Gerrymandering, legislatures, governorships.

* And then there's this:
