The staff swearing in took place in the East Room, which has had gold drapes forever.

This is a silly thing to be concerned about. We ought to be concerned about the color of his staff, not his drapes.

Gold drapes have been the norm forever.

This is silly thing to be making an issue of, when the color (or lack thereof) of his staff is what really matters.
