(789 posts)Some of the presidents supporters found the first weekend troubling. L. Lin Wood, a prominent libel lawyer who was a vocal defender of Mr. Trumps on Twitter during the campaign, said that he considered it a dangerous debut.
To someone who believed we might have a good opportunity to change, its just a terrible start. Because hes got a long way to go, Mr. Wood said. This is going to go downhill quickly if its not changed, and thats not good for any of us.

(865 posts)the libel lawyer, is just now able to see this in the oo.
Thanks for sharing, though. I had not seen this article but am about to check it out.

(25,308 posts)There is really nothing the matter with psychotherapy. I would not be surprised if presidents have utilized it in the past. It is a very stressful job.

(9,895 posts)This country was handed to Paul Ryan and Mike Pence to do what they will and Trump is the circus clown to divert everyone's attention.
While the press breathlessly follows his every single utterance and Tweet and internet meme, those sons of bitches are going to gut this country for the next 40 years. Thinking about it makes my head hurt....pondering that a mere 200,000 votes in 3 states that gave this abomination to the world and to history are going to be responsible for MILLIONS of people suffering and untold numbers dying unnecessarily...
It is not getting any better with time...since Election Night I have had to stop watching news broadcasts and news shows because they enrage me in seconds and the vapidity of the press corp on whole is immensely depressing.
We are well and truly fucked as a species.

(40,209 posts)Sean Spicer is unsuited for the job of press secretary. That is a job for a low key and calm person., not a hot head who emotionally reacts.
Kellyanne Conway only does well in the company of sycophants and those who fawn over her. When challenged she becomes defensive and combative.
There are probably a couple of cool heads in the cabinet, but with most of them being clueless it is unlikely they will be able to calm the waters. They will be preoccupied with figuring out what they're supposed to do.
This administration is going to be a mess. And once the Russian spies are revealed, the shit is going to fly. Donald Trump, for the first time in his life finds himself not in control. If he doesn't end up in a straight jacket, I'll be surprised.

"But Mr. Spicer, who often berated reporters for what he called biased coverage during the campaign, shares Mr. Trumps dark view of the news media and advocated an opening-day declaration of war."

YOHABLO
(7,358 posts)Unless of course he is mentally unstable, and thinks we all love him. So far there's nothing to ''love'' him for. He will allow the Repuglicans to go after all the support that the less fortunate have right now to keep them afloat. They're starting with block grants for Medicaid ... and we all know that's not going to work.

(901 posts)problem. It's always someone else who gets blamed. The guy is mentally ill for sure and has no empathy for anyone else, uses people like a parasite, never takes responsibility for his actions, is a pathological liar, has a grandiose impression of himself, is sexually promiscuous, thinks laws don't apply to himself... What does this all fit into? Narcissism and/or psychopath. That's who is at the helm. It's terrifying.
Anyway, he's in his 70s and a grandfather. Why would anyone think he's going to change now?
