(17,303 posts)In Canada he's better known for a similar show called Dragons' Den. One of the investors who worked alongside of him is named Arlene Dickenson. They often had a rather cantankerous relationship on the show, and one may have thought it was an act for the sake of ratings.
But Dickenson recently spoke out on O'Leary's decision to run for the Conservative leadership and she cut him off at the knees. Good on her!

(15,285 posts)He is probably the worst, most heartless "shark". It's all about $$$$s with him and nothing else. The others, of course, want to make money, but they also want to help the people and businesses they invest in succeed.

(17,303 posts)that the latest polling has O'Leary with a comfortable lead among the many candidates for Tory leadership (there's something like 17 vying for the role).
This cult of celebrity is really taking hold in our era.

(17,303 posts)except Mulcair doesn't have the charisma of Bernie and cannot get the energy or youth vote the way Sanders can. Now Mulcair's predecessor, Jack Layton, he had a real movement going but he was taken out by f*cking cancer.
