The @nytimes is definitely stepping up its headline game, which is necessary to rise to the challenge we face.

(56,828 posts)W could act like a fool, but at least he wasn't out attacking celebrities and sucked it up decently when Republicans lost bigly in the 2006 elections rather than whining and pouting about it.

(38,958 posts)and that is incredibly sad. Lying is just part of what is expected it seems to me.

(28,254 posts)It's about time the media started recognizing the Trump regime for the dishonest, dangerous threat that it truly is.

(28,254 posts)They gave him a pass, gave him billions of dollars worth of free coverage, and held him to virtually no standards whatsoever while they harped non-stop about the evils of Hillary's emails (are you still fucking yourself, Andrea Mitchell? Get back to it!).
The MSM has a lot to answer for. They deserve no forgiveness until they're up to nailing the trump regime for every lie it emits.

(297,180 posts)that Con way thing was the only time I've watched since.
That's why all these reporters acting like real reporters is shocking.. I just want them to keep it up. I didn't think anything would turn them against the big liar in the long ugly red tie.

(752 posts)Scroll down to the bottom and they show the evolution of the title. Yep, it's a lie and a big one. Glad they are saying so.

(297,180 posts)have been brainwashing their suckers that the m$m can't be trusted but there are a lot more people out there who do care about lies.
Maybe they stayed home on Election Day but if trump is really exposed like he wasn't before election.. maybe they'll get off their butts the next time around.
Thank you, bigtree!
poor widdle ego's been bruised mightily.. he can't move on.. what's a rigged blotus to do

(45,433 posts)someone posted a good plausible analysis that they only need their lunatic supporters to believe their lies and distrust the media. People like us will trust the MSM more and know the administration is always lying. and people in the middle will be disgusted by the whole thing and just not care, not pay attention, and not vote.
Something like that.
Or this focus on the vote is going to be an excuse to forcibly stop minorities from voting or some such nonsense. As it is a lot of Born in the USA minorities get told to go back where we didn't come from.
They know that the voters are getting increasingly diverse. Democrats have a demographic advantage in many states.

(22,794 posts)Trump seems to have forced the media to reverse the decades-old trend towards false equivalency and a reluctance to call politicians out on blatant lies. That's a good thing. When they get it wrong, they can apologize. A first step in holding politicians accountable.

(16,230 posts)Unlike many, I'm not convinced that his seeming obsession with this subject is actually some clever Machiavellian mind game. I think that he's truly obsessed with it, just like he was obsessed with his birther beliefs.
The man may be suffering from mental illness, dementia, or the effects of drug abuse. Having him in office is a dangerous situation. I hope that both parties in Congress can see that. Pence would be horrible, and Democrats wojld have to fight him tooth and nail, but I don't think he'd destroy NATO or start nuclear war.

(226 posts)Is project what he has done, is doing to deflect attention off himself. Everything he does is about look over there while I run my con. Most everything he say is made up stuff or a lie, Democrats and especially congress needs to figure that out fast. Everything he says or does is to benefit himself personally. "The art of the con"

(2,573 posts)example with the Apprentice ratings. He wanted people to call around and lie about how many viewers they had and the person was balking because it was an easily provable LIE. Trashpot doesn't care about reality...this is who he is.

USE the "L" word (Lie)! It's factual reporting to do so.

(18,318 posts)On one side, the declining voice of MSM and its weakening ability to arbitrate agendas, support national mythology, and describe truths.
On the other side, the Master of Social Media, casting about after the same goals, realizing those goals do not come pro forma with his mastery.
If the "Master" thinks he has achieved his goals, he will cease dealing with NYT & virtually all of MSM.
If the NYT et al achieves its goals, they will have unknowingly (perhaps), but necessarily created the New Model of legitimacy which any nation needs to survive.

(86,577 posts)he cannot "enjoy" the presidency because he's got butt hurt about the press... prelude to a lawsuit. He's going to sue us for not praising him now.
It's what he does.
