...a lifelong petty crook who took bribes even after he became veep, so the GOP got rid of him first. That's how Gerald Ford became Vice President, and when Nixon resigned, Ford became Prez.

We've been so focused on the line of succession depending on vacancies that we have not given any thought to having Pence depart first -- if there was anything on him.

I just thought of it this morning.

There are GOP members of Congress who want these things done. It's not like he signs an Executive Order saying the Earth is flat -- instead, he is giving the GOP and RW their wish-list, which they will be loath to overturn. I think we are stuck.

But as my doctor said last November when I told him I felt gobsmacked and gut-punched: "Just wait two years." Our best hope is to GOTV (starting now)in every corner of the country and elect a new House and a couple more Senators, without doing anything stupid like primarying random Democrats already in office.

just for the press to give him time to spew his thoughts scares me to no end. He thinks people can just go in and vote. Like my wife just said, Does he even know how the voting process works

last I checked, you have to register which requires proof of citizenship then your name is added to the 'book' that says you are registered as either a dem or a 'CON and you go to the polling place where you live and they look up your name and you vote. You can't just go to another polling place and walk in a vote again. You're not on their list of registered voters in that precinct. He is totally ignorant of how this most simple of things works

I'm not sure we can, hell even if I want too. Kinda like after he uses the nuke button there won't be much left to live for

China has already told him to fuck off on his threat to stop them from the islands they're building in the south china sea.

2017 Doomsday Clock Announcement.

Here is the beginning of the announcement (more at link):
The Bulletin of the Atomic Scientists will host a live international news conference at 10 a.m. EST/1500 GMT on January 26, 2017, to announce whether the minute hand of the historic “Doomsday Clock” will be adjusted. The decision is made by the Bulletin of the Atomic Scientists' Science and Security Board in consultation with the Board of Sponsors, which includes 15 Nobel Laureates.

Factors influencing the 2017 deliberations regarding any adjustment that may be made to the Doomsday Clock include: a rise in strident nationalism worldwide, President Donald Trump’s comments on nuclear arms and climate issues prior to his inauguration on January 20th, a darkening global security landscape that is colored by increasingly sophisticated technology, and a growing disregard for scientific expertise.

It is currently set at three minutes to midnight.

Expect it to again be moved forward this year. I might add that there is not much room left on that side of the minute hand, the only hand on the doomsday clock that moves.

Something. Is. Wrong. With. Him. The comedy and satire will soon fade away if the situation is allowed to get completely out of hand-but who will be the judge of that?
