They realize it would do no good and it would only serve to de-legitimize their own positions.

plays ball and signs all their policies, no, they won't impeach him. And that means that Dear Leader Trumputin is now, officially, head of the Republican Party and IS the Republican Party.

Dear Leader Trumputin = Republican Party.

Republican Party = Dear Leader Trumputin.

We need to point this out every single time. Every time M$M wants to place a fictional line between Dear Leader Trumputin and Republicans, make them own it that there isn't one.

If they believe that their party is in danger of being completely marginalized, they may decide to install Pence and try to make a go of it with him.

Give him enough rope to hang himself. Put his name on enough nasty legislation and in a year or so, when people start running for re-election, if things are a shit storm, out he goes and in comes Pence to "save the day."

For some reason or the other. The best hope is a successful lawsuit requiring that he get rid of his holdings, and being hounded since he will refuse to do it.

The cheato retreating is a sign of weakness, he'll keep up with this public tail spin with his foot hard on the accelerator until he slams into the ground, full scream ahead with all of us in tow.

That's retreating too. Big time sign of weakness.

Sure, he later revised that outcome as being smart, using the laws the way they're designed, etc. but it's still a failure. A failure at business. Business is what he's supposed to be so good at.

We should probably help him come up with a few justifications for why resigning isn't a 'sign of weakness' so he has a ready made explanation for why he did it.

Maybe even a contest for best explanation.

but yeah, we should be under no illusions that it will actually happen, at least not until we get a majority in the house (though the senate would still not convict).

similar in some ways to the way republicans called non-stop for repeal of obamacare. they knew it wouldn't happen while obama was president, but they're getting their wish in the end.

They will let Don the Con continue to distract the media with his outrageousness while McConnell/Ryan dismantle 80 years of progress. The lights are going out in America because of a handful of stupid, racists fucks.

case goes forward and the repukes in congress are against it. That means they are anti-constitution. That should be the headlines in every paper in the world.
