I Kind of Get what Pelosi Meant by Feeling Sorry for Trump

she said she felt sorry for him when he was bragging about his crowds . i kind of had the same feeling in that abc interview where he again brought up the crowd and was so fixated on that picture and trying to convince people how large a crowd it was.

this guy is president and that is the biggest concern for him. it was just pathetic and sad.

this grown up old man who even after becoming president has this need to show everyone how popular he is.

the people who continue to support him are not doing him any favors. if he was related to me i would never have supported him running for president or any other office.

All I could think when I heard her say it was he is going to be so mad! He hates anything that makes him look like the pathetic loser he is.

and i fully support her and anybody else making him look like the pathetic loser he is.

Though he's proven quite capable (without any outside help!) of making himself look like the pathetic loser he is.

I don't feel sorry for him, I feel sorry for us and our country being endangered and taken backwards by him and his brainwashed supporters.

6. I be!ieve that just as there are narcissists...

there is a certain segment of the population who are attracted to them. Those are fearful people willing to give up autonomy and thinking for themselves in order to have someone a adress their sense of fear and insecurity with simplistic and brash promises of security. They think the abuse from the narcissist is better than facing fear of that which they do not understand. These are people who are not interested in nuanced approaches to problems, and are attracted to the idea that they need a strongman to protect them from the perceived victimhood that their fear creates (i.e. modern Republicans).

I feel sorry for us because those types have gotten what they seek.

and I may be doing her an injustice, but I doubt she meant it sincerely.

I mean, like many others, I imagine, I've been stuck in situations where I've been totally out of my depth, so I can empathize.

But then I didn't savagely bluff my way into being POTUS, and I'm not a wilfully ignorant, vindictive, emotionally stunted, money-grabbing asshole (except on a particularly bad day).

In my experience when I hear someone say "I'll pray for you", it is often said with both pity and contempt. I have some pity for him as person and enormous contempt for him as president; as a multi bankrupt real estate investor; as a philandering husband; a crooked businessman; and as a generally loathsome man.

Nancy Pelosi may have entirely different reasons.

9. Yeah, I've had people say that to me on other boards, in the context of disagreements/arguments.

They acted all surprised when I didn't react positively! It's like, "You're in serious need of redemption, heathen." This while often spouting hateful RW crap themselves. It's on a par with Godwinning someone.

I do have some Christian friends and neighbors. I believe some of them may have prayed for me from time to time. I don't have a problem with that, and they've never made a point of telling me about it.

Nancy Pelosi's not someone I'd want to cross. I mean that as a compliment.

10. We have no time to get the boo-hoo's over trump's obvious personal problems.

This is precisely the sort of wimpy-assed Democratic response that conservatives have been taking advantage of for decades. While Pelosi is feeling sorry for trump, his goons are going to kick us in the teeth. Either the Democratic Party mounts an effective fight against this would-be dictator, or we declare the party null and void, and find alternate means of opposition. Call your representatives.

11. I don't feel sorry for him because his insecurity

is extremely dangerous. Now he's going after all the "illegal" voters who voted for Hillary. I get the sense that anyone who didn't vote for HIM is an illegal voter. That's troubling.

12. Look at his advisers, Banion and Kellyanne whom he kept. Not a wise decision.

For me, it is hard to believe he kept such radical advisers. I think he settles down whwn Pence is around.
