(25,270 posts)Mr Chaffetz, voter fraud is a very serious allegation and it is coming from the president. If proven true it undermines our very democracy. The American People are very concerned about this issue and want to be reassured that their votes count and that if there is something illegal going on that it be corrected so that they can believe the results. Because you won't go ahead with this investigation many Americans are now saying that you don't want to follow through on this investigation because you're concerned that any investigation into voting and election fraud would implicate your Party and expose dirty tricks your Party pulls to skew the voting in your Party's favor. Don't you want to allay the fears of the American People? Why don't you want to investigate this matter of such great importance to the American People?
The MSM needs to keep asking this question - not only of Chaffetz - but of all the Repugs. It needs to get them on the record. It needs to hang them on their words.
The Repugs are always claiming foul in elections so that they can impose voter suppression; and all kinds of hoops one has to jump through to be able to vote. This is why such questions need to be asked of them. Their not wanting to follow through on such an investigation puts them in an precarious position of continually making claims that they are unwilling to verify. It makes them look guilty.

(8,013 posts)We shouldn't let them off so easily. They say there's massive voter fraud but they don't want to investigate? What's wrong with this picture? If Dems did something like that, they'd be all over us. Don't let it rest. Make them look stupid.

(22,308 posts)How many people voted illegally and how many were denied their right to vote even though they are citizens of proper age?
I am betting on a ratio of around a million to one.
