They talk about the wall being fencing......that is not a wall
A wall is put 50 feet below ground level and 100 feet above topped with razor wire
with gun towers

THAT IS A WALL

International trade declined dramatically and that caused huge job losses.

If tRump gets his way, it will be known as the Great Trump Depression.

Happy Days are here again! Disaster capitalism. It's hard to keep up with the hysteria but I'm trying. (not that hysteria is unfounded mind you-it's rough when others are more hysterical than me-that was something I was good at)

http://www.english.illinois.edu/MAPS/depression/about.htm

The Depression hit hardest those nations that were most deeply indebted to the United States, i.e., Germany and Great Britain. In Germany, unemployment rose sharply beginning in late 1929, and by early 1932 it had reached 6 million workers, or 25 percent of the work force. Britain was less severely affected, but its industrial and export sectors remained seriously depressed until World War II. Many other countries had been affected by the slump by 1931.

The US owes huge debts to China. This is no time to start trade wars with Mexico and China.

But can other countries take the chance that this is just one more time Trump's popping off without taking steps to protect themselves? When someone's charging at you with a gun and screaming "I'm going to kill you!" it takes some pretty stern stuff to wait impassively to see if he's just dicking around or if he really means it.

Compare "I don't think" to "I don't think Congress would get behind that".

Right now, the two titles run:

"I don't think"
"Probably not"

It's funny, all the more so because neither writer intended the resulting effects.

They know a battle of import duties and trade barriers would hurt both sides. Canada buys more from us than we buy from them, so upsetting that balance would be very foolish.

WTO battles...

Trade battles.....

And everything gets more expensive.

Oh and lets not forget...you won't be able to get some produce year round as it will be "out of season" and prohibitively expensive to buy. Time to take your canning and pickling hobby into a normal everyday life requirement.

Trump really is taking us back to the 1950's....only one small problem, the worlds economies aren't decimated due to world war, so no one will be buying from us.
