Last night in Portland Oregon our family went to hear Michael Lewis, author of "The Undoing Project," this the story of two psychologists, Daniel Kahneman and Amos Tversky, who pointed out how widespread our errors and thinking are. (Really terrific book!)
In the question and answer portion after his presentation, Lewis was asked about his estimation of Pres. Trump. He said that he has never met anyone as unqualified for the office of presidency as Trump. He said that he tried to think of anyone in the past that he has ever met who would be less qualified to be president than Trump, and he said that after a lot of thought and review, he could not think of a single person who would be less qualified.
He was thinking of several approaches to this presidency, including:
Having a website in which people from around the world would submit articles about the negative impact that Trump's decisions are making on their lives.
And, having a "Death Clock" to keep track of the deaths that will be caused by Trump.

I think both of these suggestions are excellent!
Can anyone think of lawn ornaments that might be appropriate to display one's opposition to Trump? Maybe an upside down Trump flag or some such?

(60,010 posts)It seems strange to say he is mentally ill, but he is, and most competent psychiatrists will, almost surely do, recognize it.
I worked in Mental Health for 30 years and see it clearly.
This harping on what he does not want to see as a failure is very compulsive for him, he cannot stop himself.
He is getting so much derision because his illness is not well known.
Mocking makes it worse, actually.
Thank for the heads up about Lewis' new book..he makes very complex information easily accessible.

(1,779 posts)Thus far, his great wealth and aggressive attitudes have spared him from the consequences of his mental health problems but clearly they haven't spared others from those consequences. E.G., see the students of Trump University, the women he has assaulted, the numerous people he has refused to pay, etc., and now he is in the process of assaulting everyone in this country and on the planet.
You can bet that if he were being sentenced for his crimes, he too would plead diminished capacity because of his mental health difficulties - maybe plead "affluenza."
