(82 posts)Until his appearance on Dr. Oz. Oz told Trump that his weight at 6'2" put him in the obese category but 6'3" moved him out of that category so at the age of 70 are president grew a whole inch. There is nothing, absolutely nothing that this man does not lie about.

(9,808 posts)He claims 6'3", he's been photographed next to multiple people in the 6' range, and he's never taller. He may have once been 6'3", but everyone shrinks with age. The spinal discs compress and get less flexible over time. He seems to be 6'1" in 2" lifts.
He is wearing lifts -- now that could be medical; heel spurs, post-tibial tendonitis, plantar fasciitis, an Achilles' tendon fault can all call for an elevated heel. (Hi, I live in a specific style of Doc Martens thanks to an ankle I sprained years ago being prone to rolling, and post-tibial related to that sprain and the same knee being without an ACL; the surgical repair is likely to not improve my mobility, which is 98%.) And the lifts explain his incredibly bad trouser fit -- he wants the pant leg to hide both the lift and the alteration in stride. (Also, his tailor is making fun of him and he's too dumb to know it.)
But my bet is vanity. He claimed he was 232 pounds at 6'3". A LOT of professional clothes people laughed at that. He's carrying way too much torso weight for that to be true. (I'm a semi-pro textiles person; I'd peg him at a 19" neck and 46" chest, and the only way to get that into 232 pounds would be if he's got a transfemoral leg amputation that he's comprehensively hiding.) He looks a lot more like my spouse at his highest weight (260), except my spouse really is 6'3".
So... 5'11" and around 260? That's well into medically obese, rather than "overweight". That's the vanity. He seems really, really sensitive about his weight, and that sort of lie fits into the way he self-deludes about everything.

(9,808 posts)Not much to worry about -- narcissists are unparalleled at justifying their choices and denying that there's anything wrong with what they're doing as long as it's what they want. They'll smoke while on oxygen, eat cake when their blood glucose is testing 500, prissily remove the top slice of bread of a sandwich to "save calories" then eat four sandwiches instead of the one proper one. If food is the thing that works on their brains, they will eat what they want until it kills them, because the rest of us telling them it's bad for them aren't entirely real, and not-real people shouldn't be telling them what to do.
Narcs and food are a whole special case of WTFery.
