We need internal resistance and external resistance

In Europe, this year's key election will be in France, which will decide whether Le Pen (alt right), Fillon (Tatcher I kind of dont like Europe) and Macron.

He will drive the external resistance to Trump and is starting doing so, claiming Britain is becoming the vassal of the US (https://www.rt.com/news/375320-uk-us-macron-vassal/)

We need all progressivist forces around and we can all help. His chance is real but coming without the support of a party makes it much more difficult.

1. Is Elon not running for reelection?

While I am not totally happy with Elon, he IS doing every one of the things you say Macron will do. Why abandon Elon, if he is running, for a person that may not win. If Elon is running, the infatuation with Macron points up one of the key problems that I see on our side, not understanding when at least something is good enough when an existential threat is being faced, if Le Pen or Fillon wins, it's potentially goodbye EU and hello to Russia having massive influence in Europe - how does that help us, but bring us closer to WW III and destruction of the earth?

He is not running for reelection. The socialist party has virtually no chance.

There are also some differences: climate change priority, the franco german relationship, openness to refugees and to globalization are clearly more important issues to Macron.

You are right on the rest: fillon or le pen and its the end of an era and the trump/putin going full blown over the world
