Trump will self-destruct because he is mentally not well. Please read this analysis. Thank you.

TL;DR
Donald Trump will self-destruct because he's trapped in his psychological patterns like in a vicious circle, and cannot escape them. His little remaining mental stability will inevitably erode until he becomes obviously and undeniably unacceptable as a ruler, even to the GOP, and gets deposed.

The question is: Who breaks first? Him? The US? The GOP? You?

Donald Trump is not a fundamentally bad man. He is mentally unstable and in need of psychotherapheutic help, but nobody around him is strong enough to convince him of that.

Donald Trump does not tell things that are obviously false because he's trying to convince you of something.

Example:
Imagine there's a schoolyard-bully beating you up and yelling "Say you like eating boogers! Say you like eating boogers! Say it!"

Or this example:

Is the schoolyard-bully trying to convince you that you indeed like eating boogers? No. This is a proxy, a gesture to break your resistance and make you submit to his power by putting his version above your version regardless of what the facts actually are.

By agreeing to the claim that the lie is the truth, you are signaling your surrender to the bully.

Sean Spicer is telling Trump's lies because he has surrendered to him.
Kellyanne Conway is telling Trump's lies because she has surrendered to him.
You are not appeasing Trump's lies, because you have not surrendered to him.

From Donald Trump's (subconscious) point of view, you are not refusing to echo his lies because you have the facts on your side.
Facts are irrelevant in this psychological battle.
From Donald Trumps point of view, he is entitled to rule over you in a totalitarian fashion and you are supposed to formally declare surrender by agreeing to his lies.
That's how he comes to the misperception that your refusal to appease his lies is an attack on his legitimacy to rule over you.
Because he knows no other forms of rulership than totalitarian rule.

Donald Trump once said that he "loves the uneducated". That does in no way mean that he prefers a dumb society he can fool.
"Uneducated" is code for the poor and misinformed people who venerate Trump as a successful businessman. It's a nick-name for a certain segment of society. They have accepted him as their superior and THAT'S why he loves them. This is not at all about intelligence or lack of education. It's only about rule and surrender.

So what happens next? There are two options: The bully wins or the bully stops. A normal bully would stop if his victim puts up enough resistance.

But Donald Trump cannot stop. From his point of view, if he were to stop, that would mean that he surrenders to your insistence that he's not your legitimate totalitarian ruler.
That's why Donald Trump will continue telling things that are obviously false. He will fight harder and harder and will deliberately get more and more outrageous and provocative to break you.

What is the endgame? Donald Trump has no morals and no convictions. He knows no God, no patriotism, no higher ideals. To him, the US is just a set of laws, an economic environment and a pool of fans. In his world there is nothing except power, money and fame.

Even if Donald Trump became aware how damaging and self-damaging he is, he wouldn't be able to stop. He is driven by his desires for power and for revenge. If he cannot rule over you, then he will make you suffer. He will absolutely not stop until some external force forces him to. He cannot, because it's a mental health-issue and he cannot break out of these patterns without external help. He cannot stop, because to him, stopping would mean surrendering to you, somebody who's obviously inferior to him.
HE CANNOT STOP, BECAUSE YOU DON'T DEFEAT INSANITY BY DECIDING TO GET YOUR ACT TOGETHER.
HE.
NEEDS.
PROFESSIONAL.
HELP.

The GOP on the other hand has different priorities: Ruling the US is more important to them than supporting any individual person, even Trump.
Once (not if, but once) Trump ceases to be an asset to the GOP and becomes an image-problem, once Trump starts hurting the election-chances of the wider GOP, they will rebel.

The scary thing is, let's say that finally the rethuglicans in Congress act on it and get rid of tRUMP....the normal rethuglicans around the country might be on board with the idea, but I think you're still going to have his die-hard base (aka the deplorables!) who will not take it lying down! Who knows what THEY will do!!! Either way, we're F'ed!

But, don't get me wrong, by all means...the cancer needs to be eradicated..get rid of tRUMP!! I'm just scared of the fallout, but getting rid of the cancer needs to be done!

We are supposed to be the party of the people. The die-hards need to see a populist leader they can latch onto from the Dem side of the aisle.

This is very clarifying to me. I'm convinced that he's nuts. He thinks that his version of reality is the reality for all, just because he says it.

My mom had dementia in her last days. Not Alzheimer's but a vascular dementia related to her overall declining health. She couldn't remember things that had happened or were said to her, so her mind would construct an alternate version of what had happened to explain it. She was a bright woman but into her 80s. We would have to explain things over and over and set it straight.

I think Trump has something like that wrong with him but it has gone on for a very long time, not due to age.

He's in it for as long as he wants the job, whether that's six weeks or 16 years.

Which means we have to do our part as patriotic Americans to ensure that he doesn't want it anymore.

Don't think he'll let a little old thing like the Constitution stop him. It hasn't stopped him yet.

Frankly, I'm surprised he didn't try to seize office the day after he was "elected". We should all be thankful he allowed the illegitimate Kenyan Muslim to serve out the last couple months of his term.
