be running in 2018 to avoid being primaried.
To me this is a very smart move if your going to run for President in 2020.
Also the down state crew(NYC) have a very weak candidates for a state wide senate race.

(10,005 posts)The problem is NY is now very red above NYC.
I also believe that NYC will split and become a red state.

(4,787 posts)If every person who voted for her in Richmond (SI), Nassau and Suffolk Counties had voted for Trump, she would won by 1.1 million votes. (Trump didn't make inroads on SI: SI voting for PBO in 2012 was unusual. They didn't vote for him in 2008.)

(56,828 posts)but, that was in the right-wing NY Post, so I don't really take it seriously. The top two articles on google are from Newsmax and the NY Post - so, until it's something in the legitimate media, I would consider it fake news trying to stir up internal chaos among Democrats.
And, challenging a popular incumbent as a Democrat isn't going to work.
Maybe she should move to Massachusetts and challenge Charlie Baker?

I considered Gillibrand soft early on in her career, but her work during the last five plus years showed me that she has some big cahones. And I think she learned well from watching the attacks on Hillary's votes that Hillary later regretted making.
