This is not a party issue. This is a citizen issue from top to bottom. And those in positions of power are supposed to have a greater understanding of the thing they serve. Many are making it clear they are not. It's time to draw up lists of who is speaking out against it and who is not.

most incumbents rarely lose a re-election bid. They are generally insulated from the consequences of their actions, or their inaction. And given how much money is needed to run on a national level, it is very difficult to challenge these entrenched officeholders.
