Tear gas, protesters getting clubbed and shot, soldiers coming home scarred for life, or just not coming home. Making America great again.

Not that the refugee ban isn't news; it certainly is.

Still, they are putting in place (and hiding) some nasty crap underneath the uproar. Bannon is unqualified, as is Flynn. Wonder what Mattis is thinking?

Plus quite a few of the people possibly related to the dossier they all called "fake news" are ending up dead or arrested. How fake was it?

... missing.

I'm saving my energy... not that the quasi Muslim band isn't some real shit but I'm thinking the DNI heads know something and they're not (or weren't) going to take the Band Of Bigots shit.

man... it aint even been two weeks... we're proper fucked unless dems get some balls and start taking anti tank weapons (I forget the acronym) to tank fights instead of shot guns.

...and I wonder if that is why the journalists are shying away?

It is chilling that he is re-working the NSC and installing unqualified administration "yes" men to it. That should scare the shit out of everyone.

One thing has become clear: for every big outrage (like the muslim ban) look around, because 2-3 other things are happening at the same time.

And yes, all of our representatives - Dem and Republican - need to start working together now to thwart this despot. I know not all Republicans will, but maybe we can peel off a few who understand country before party...I can hope.

... He said; "you guys have too many brown people in the government for him to succeed"

This is a guy who was telling me about his parents stories of Hitler.... I know... I know... another Hitler reference but he was right... I hope.

There are too many brown people.. our government and society is not all one of anything so Benedict Donald has people who don't trust him everywhere.

Including journalist, .. I don't expect the Joy Rieds, Maddows etc to stay quiet or get dead quick...

I hope

I think MiniPootin is in deep, like having 12 yr old girls piss on him and Putin record it and MiniPootin go to jail kinda deep...

We're proper fucked for a second

I don't think they have the brains to put Trump in check. They've grown fat and lazy these past seven years simply forming the word, "No" and sending it in Obama's direction. Look how they screwed up their gov't shutdown. They're clueless.

I so fear the imminent death of innocent Americans with Trump/Bannon as the collective conductor of this madness.

To your question about authority: I think only Ryan and McConnell are really in any position of power. Ryan is a big "nope" - he's young, ambitious and cunning. He cannot have missed his potential opportunities with this narcissist-in-chief. He seems to be gravitating to him. So he's out. Now, if Ryan and Bannon get into a power struggle, who knows?

McConnell, as much as I can't stand his sorry ass, has one super power: obstructionist. If he can find his patriotism (the true kind - not the bullshit alt-patriotism he spews about), he could have some positive impact. I am not holding out hope on that, for the record. But it's still a consideration.

It really comes down to some principled Republicans putting country before party; they have to be seeing what is unfolding, too. I'm thinking purple-state Republicans are the ones to focus on at this point, and work from there.

But what I think and what happens are not always in alignment.

I will always have hope, though. It is not in my nature to do otherwise.

i was so hopeful when the judge's ruling came down. but then we learned that the border control wasn't complying. at that point i couldn't think of how it could be resolved without innocent protesting americans falling in the line of fire.

it's all happening so fast. the shock doctrine on steroids. trump is crazy like a fox.

thanks for all your thoughts tonight.

I knew he would be bad...I tried so hard to convince people of what I knew, but I was not always successful. But I tried.

All of this is off the charts, and I think we are all trying to get our heads around it. "Shock doctrine on steroids" is the best way I have heard it described. I will use that.

I'll continue to do everything I can, and I know that you will, too. They have not stopped us yet and we must continue to resist.

Whatever the number in January is multiply by 10 for March April May

The college campuses open up and people are tired of being indoors. Great way to meet people and they become important social events. Even the apathetic turn out.

Spring is going to be BIG.
