Trump removes DNI and Chairman of Joint Chiefs from National Security Council. And adds Bannon

Trump removes DNI and Chairman of Joint Chiefs from National Security Council. And adds Bannon.
By Keith Pickering

Because he's smarter than all the Generals.

In the latest move designed to make sure he only gets advice from his political sycophants, while avoiding all interaction with anyone who might be nonpartisan, Hair Twittler today removed the Director of National Intelligence and the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff from the Principals Committee of the National Security Council. Added as a regular member was the Assistant to the President and Chief Strategist, who is, of course neo-Nazi and avowed Leninist Steve Bannon (pictured above blogging from his mother’s basement). The chairman, of course is wild-eyed conspiracy theorist Mike Flynn.

The news was broken by Zeke Miller, White House correspondent for Time magazine. And as usual, the White House tried to spin this as a really good thing, because now the DNI and CJCS will have more time on their hands:

Here’s the EO as mailed to Miller’s phone:

If Trump wants to start a war, it’s hard to imagine a better first move than this one.

If they don't abort the tRump presidency soon, more and more people will conclude they themselves are not fit to govern.

But they have probably been secretly hoping it would go this way so they can install the christian dominionist Pence.

Part of the problem is that if they do, the tRump base could turn on them in very violent disruptive ways. I'm not talking marches. Trump's hardcore base (about 15% of the voters) love Pence but adore Trump and their martyr complexes would be stimulated.

The President must follow and enforce the laws. The law giving the President the power to make this change assumes the President is a reasonable person. We ( and surely most of Congress) all realize this is no longer the case. Correct me if I am wrong. I am not an attorney.

the rule of law is only valid as long as those charged with upholding it actually believe in it and believe it applies to them and are willing to follow it. So far, the Grab-Our-Pussies party-controlled Congress shows no inclination whatsoever to reign him in, in fact, they seem to be glorying in his authoritarian bullshit and are steamrolling right over the Dems and any other opposition. Now we are seeing and experiencing for ourselves just how it felt to be in 1930's Germany, something I never, ever thought I'd see in my own country.
