(17,023 posts)It's going to be painful but I think in the long run it's going to be a good thing. There comes a point, a crossroad, where a decision has to be made. Are we going to continue on a course where the rich get lifted up higher on the backs of the working poor or are we going to create a society where we are all lifted up. Where the work we do benefits us all rather than benefiting a few.

(574 posts)Exactly what I thought before Trump and the Republicans ran the tables and gained control of Congress AND the White House. Republicans are emboldened, not frightened, and the Democrat leadership seems comfortable using the same playbooks that failed us in the past.
I wish I shared your optimism, but I fail to see what it is based on.
