donnie's measuring stick is how it plays on foxnews.
that's all he cares about. he doesn't care about policy or its implementation, except to the extent it affects how it plays on foxnews.
he really doesn't care how pissed off the non-foxnews audience gets. if anything, he enjoys it, because that often plays well on foxnews.
his entire world all about his own vastly overblown image. so right now, he only cares about *being seen* as a man of action, *being seen* as doing something -- anything -- about the "issues" he talked about during the campaign, *being seen* as changing the game in washington.
in that light, he's not doing nearly as badly as the rest of us (those living in reality) see it.
but note, his base isn't overly bothered by the amateur hour aspect of things. they give him plenty of points for "finally doing something" about "radical islamic terrorists", etc.
if donnie and his gang get a bit smoother, he'll easily get back the lost support. alternatively, he'll continue to crank out crap executive orders and such, and they'll play up the man of action, shake up washington angle, and get back their brainwashed sheeple that way.
what *we* have to do if figure out how to make it all look bad *on foxnews*.
it only gets us so much if it looks bad on cnn.
