Senate Democrats Boycott Confirmation Votes On Two Top Trump Nominees

"WASHINGTON ―Senate Democrats deployed a dramatic 11th hour maneuver to deny confirmation votes of two of President Donald Trump’s Cabinet picks Tuesday, arguing that those nominees had lied to them.

Senators were set to vote on Rep. Tom Price (R-Ga.) to lead the Department of Health and Human Services and Steve Mnuchin to lead the Treasury Department.

By not showing up for the votes, Democrats denied Republicans the quorum they needed to move forward with confirmation. At least one Democrat needs to be present for the vote to happen.

Senate Republicans were outraged, throwing their plans to quickly confirm Trump’s nominees into disarray."

I applaud them for this but Sessions is reprehensible. edit to add: Never mind . They're boycotting because both nominees gave false testimony and Dems want to question them further. Good for them.

And that is what they should do. When Spicer cries about obstruction they can respond that the GOP set this pattern during the 8 years of the Obama Presidency.
