Whining Not a Workable Diplomatic Strategy
Early on in his run to become (Faux) President of the United States bragged that he whines until he gets what he wants...that has been his negotiating tactic for decades. Far too many probably gave him what he wanted just to be done with him.
Problem is, that strategy does not work on the world stage, does not work with other world leaders. In less than two weeks as President Trump has managed to ruffle the feathers of our closest allies, Britain, Mexico, and now Australia, while making it appear that the United States is more than willing to change course and get in bed with Putin. Furthermore, his trying to renege on deals already made (IE, NAFTA, IE, our agreement with Australia), his endless string of threats if he does not get his way is now calling into question America's integrity.
A general on CNN last night said Trump is offending almost every world leader, and if things do not change, we could find ourselves standing alone in our own times of need.
How much rope are we going to give Trump and the Alt. Right?
