(12,428 posts)To understand a sarcastic remark you have to be able to mentally put yourself in the sarcastic person's place, a skill called "empathy". Also, inability to get sarcasm could be an early warning sign of dementia. So Trump may have two strikes against him in understanding sarcasm.

(42,770 posts)really hurt us . I think it's interesting how he put on a show of signing orders (like that was it - all you had to do, like a king). And his side thinks he's done a lot. But - he has failed on most everything, right? Wall - oops Mexico won't pay. Muslim Ban - oops, illegal. ACA - oops, it actually was close to the best anyone could do. ACA, oops, now we have to act like we really do care about sick people.

(42,770 posts)his business life was very simple. His sole task was to see profit potential. That is all he ever had to do. Then he just told his minions - make it happen. Once he became successful, he probably never had to learn anything again. That is his MO now. He's a give me the Cliff Notes version guy.
