(16,390 posts)I think the core of his support is around 25 percent of the electorate. Those are the ones willing to die for him. The true believers.

(5,091 posts)At the time of his resignation, Nixon held on to about 25% support.
His drop that low may take longer than we would like as, his support will be
shored up by the right wing media.

(17 posts)Thanks for recommending www.DCReport.org.
This is a nonprofit news service with more than 50 volunteers (including me) and some paid staff.
At DCReport.org you will learn important news about your job, income, family, safety and the environment that the MSM fail to report.
We do original reporting on important issues. We don't follow the news herd.
At DCReport.org we largely ignore what Trump Tweets and politicians say so that we can cover what they DO.
We empower people to formally and officially file their comments as soon as the Trump administration or Congress move against your existing protections, privileges and rights. See our stories on the House GOP plan to arrange to give away federal lands regardless of their value as assets or generators of income, on how Trump has set in motion higher electricity prices and the federal records disappeared from the Internet.
Please sign up for our free alerts. Several more stories are in the works for this week.
And, if you can, please donate.
Allbests,
David Cay Johnston

(65,060 posts)And you know that!
TomCADem
(17,387 posts)...but I guess that did not happen either. My point is that Bernie should claim credit for the prosperity that might result from Trump's protectionist policies. It was the centerpiece of his campaign to the extent that TPP was often raised during the DNC by protesters.
https://www.bloomberg.com/politics/articles/2016-07-26/quicktake-q-a-why-democrats-are-chanting-no-tpp-at-convention
Why Democrats Are Chanting No TPP at Convention
At first blush, the "No TPP" signs at the Democratic National Convention might suggest some kind of derogatory adjective being applied to the Trump-Pence Republican ticket. In fact, Democrats waving those signs are rallying against the Trans-Pacific Partnership, the trade deal that has driven a wedge between many Democrats and their president, Barack Obama. The animosity is a reminder of how difficult it will be for Obama to win congressional ratification of the trade deal before he leaves office in January 2017. With Democratic nominee Hillary Clinton a late convert to the TPP opposition -- and her running mate, Tim Kaine, an even later convert -- it seems clear that the next president will be, at the very least, less of a TPP fan than Obama is.

(5,730 posts)he was Prez. Now, he can kill lots of people, or let it happen. I see this core that will stick to him no matter what. I agree they have been programmed by Fox news and such to vote against and act against their own self interest. They hate Dems and liberals that much. Hate. They HATE HILLARY. They would be gleeful to see her drawn and quartered. They meant it," Lock her up." Maybe they all need lobotomies.

(49,002 posts)If these poll numbers are any indication, then women and progressives and liberals and Democrats are winning. Well, they certainly are a true indication because 1) Other polls are consistent (though less disapproval), and 2) This is the third week this Gallup poll has tRump under water.
Resistance is not futile, it is utile. Persistence is holding the line and winning some battles.

Don't you get frustrated and a little bit embarrassed and ashamed when all these polls say our demographic is strongly Republican. I'm over 65 and that demo is supposedly Republican all the way, even the women. What the fuck is wrong with our age groups?
