Damn Right I'm Rooting For Trump's Failure

Some on the right would have you believe that rooting for Trump to fail is equal to rooting for America to fail. Nothing could be further from the truth.

Let me explain using an analogy most Americans are familiar with, sports.

Imagine if your local high school had a very successful football team with a long, storied history of winning. But more than just the "winning", what made this team so special was the culture of honest hard work and above all else, the values and sportsmanship the coaching staff instilled in the kids. As such, this team was not only a tremendous local source of pride, they were the standard that all other teams in the country were held to.

But now imagine that one day the team begins to struggle. Little by little the losses start piling up, and eventually people start demanding change. Within a few months, the more fanatical fans even begin to hold protests demanding the coach and his entire staff be replaced.

And now imagine that leading the charge was the town's old millionaire crank, Donald Trump.

Everyone knows old man Trump; a selfish, self-centered, greedy, arrogant ignorant buffoon of a man. Of course, he knows absolutely nothing about the fundamentals of football, nor does he give a shit. His only purpose for showing up at games in the first place is to yell and belittle others, to cause a scene in an effort to get attention and promote his local businesses.

Indeed over the years you and most parents have cringed in horror as old man Trump would menacingly stalk the coach during every game, calling him a "pathetic loser" and demanding he be fired.

Your own stomach would turn the times you would see him catcall the young cheerleaders, or grope the clearly repulsed mothers in the stands.

And you covered your children's ears as old man Trump called weaker boys "fags", and barked at the brown skinned boys from opposing teams to "go back to where you came from!".

And now imagine that as the team unfortunately kept losing, you watched in horror as slowly some of the more angry and fanatical parents actually started joining in with Trump and his vile behavior. And then a few more joined in, and a few more, leading Trump to seize on the moment, assuring them that only HE could fix the teams problems, only HE had the brains and the courage and the strength to do what it took!

And imagine he got them to flood the next school board meeting, and the next thing you knew, somehow, someway, this disgusting, sexist, racist, crude, foul mouthed excuse for a man was now in charge of a bunch of high school children's football team.

Now I ask you, as you sit and watch Coach Trump insult and belittle players, make racist and sexist comments from the bench, viciously mentally abuse the kids and destroy everything the team once stood for...

...would you be rooting for the team to win?

"But now imagine that one day the team begins to struggle." The USA was not struggling when Trump started his quest for power. He is, though, as vile as you describe.
