Will the Republicans in Congress Create a New HUAC?

With the erstwhile President calling the media the "enemies of the people," I have to wonder if his woebegone allies in the House of Representatives will take that as a signal to revive the old House Un-American Activities Committee and start a 21st Century witch hunt that could label those who criticize the administration as un-American.

Who would play the role of Joe McCarthy in leading the way to naming names and attaching labels, despite the fact that he was a Senator at the time? Will hearings be televised and broadcast so all can see who are today's "enemies of the people." Not Communists, of course, this time, but perhaps those who still believe that our nation is a democratic republic.

They'll call this committee a diffferent name, of course. They'll pretend it isn't there to attach blame to individuals who are exercising their freedoms. No, they'll say they're just protecting "the American people."

Watch for it. It is coming.

Not by a long shot. There will be many who fall in line behind such a thing. Count on it.

The GOP will lose both houses in 2018. To Benedict Donald and Paul Ryan, I say, "Do feel luck?" " Huh Punk (s), do you? "

Should people who are called to it wear American flag apparel or Russian flag apparel?

have been seen that way, too. And yet, it dominated the political scene during its time and ruined many lives. I remember it during my childhood and adolescence. This country did not rise up and condemn it. Not at all. There would be support for the next version of it, too. We need to be prepared to counter that.

I can imagine his weak little mouth forming the words of accusation right now.
