https://www.resistancerecess.com/event/resist-recess/?source=aflcio"ATTEND A RESISTANCE RECESS EVENT: SAVE OUR HEALTH CARE, OUR COMMUNITIES, AND OUR DEMOCRACY
The week of February 1826 is the first recess of the 115th Congresstime specifically set aside for members of Congress to meet with constituents and get the pulse of the communities they represent.
This is the perfect time to raise our voices. We will show up at our elected officials' events, town halls, other public appearances, and even plan our own events, if they refuse to meet with us, to make it clear to those who represent us, as well as to the media, that tolerance of Trump's hurtful agenda is unacceptable and politically toxic.
Will you join fellow constituents and attend a Resistance Recess action near you?
Enter your ZIP Code or view the map (at the link) to search for an event near you. If you don't see an event with your member of Congress listed, click "Create a New Event" below and add your event! We'll help recruit fellow constituents to join you."

(14,919 posts)I am only one county over so I will join the Alternative Town Hall outside her event. Only 100 people can get inside, and the RSVP admissions are full and only available to residents of Fairview, where the Town Hall is taking place. This is the plan for the Alternate Town Hall, per The Tennesssean:
group of demonstrators are organizing an outdoor Alternative Town Hall for Marsha Blackburn next Tuesday, Feb. 21, at the same time the Republican congresswoman is scheduled to speak inside Fairview City Hall.
A number of groups are organizing the counter-event, which will be held on the front lawn of City Hall from 3-6 p.m, according to an email to The Fairview Observer and social media posts from a group called Women for Justice Southeast Region.
Blackburn is scheduled to speak at 3:30 p.m. Because seating inside city hall being limited to 100 guests, the City of Fairview is requesting R.S.V.P.s and will give those who are already registered seating before allowing anyone in without a reservation.
While Blackburn will be inside city hall, the group plans to ask questions of a cardboard cutout of Blackburn as a prop outside. They also plan to video the organized rally and send a copy to Blackburn and post it online.
A Blackburn aide said Wednesday morning that her office had not heard of the rally, but that Blackburn "is looking forward to being a guest of the city of Fairview.

I am thinking that in districts where the representative is not holding a Town Hall, citizens could hold a similar "virtual town hall" in a public space, e.g. outside the representative's office, to raise awareness of issues such as the looming Ryan legislative agenda and the menace it represents.

From them, I want to know: Where is the infrastructure and the organization that a)harnesses the energy of the Democratic electorate and b)uses the horror of the current administration to educated people in red districts how much they are being screwed by Republicans AS IT IS HAPPENING.
