Are you normalized over this brouhaha with the resignation of National Security Adviser Michael Flynn? Has Fox News convinced you that the main issue is simply news leaks? Yes?
No. We are looking straight at a constitutional crisis that we havent witnessed in our countrys 240-year history. And it leads straight to our new presidents cozy relationship with a foreign power that wishes us ill. Donald Trump looks more and more like a Russian mole.
For readers who havent followed it much, here you go.
By Election Day it was clear that Trump had a blind spot with his endless criticisms of everything except Vladimir Putin and Russia. When reminded that opposition politicians in Russia are disposed of with alarming regularity, he blew it off. When reminded of Putins snatching of Crimea and invasion of Ukraine, he scoffed. It was strange.
The plot thickened. When President Barack Obama expelled 35 Russian diplomats for proven interference in our election, Putin disregarded the usual reaction of the Cold War of removing 35 Americans from Russia. Instead, he did nothing. Strange.
But the NSA had apparently been listening to Russian telephones. Who had called the Russian ambassador a day after Obamas expulsions and before Putins non-reaction? Incoming National Security Adviser Mike Flynn. In the conversation he told the Russian not to react, the next administration would take care of it when it came into office.
<snip>
But the FBI knew the whole story. Not one call seven. Not just Flynn after the election, but a blizzard of calls between many Trump campaign workers all through the campaign year. Trumps election campaign was coordinating closely with Russia against Hillary Clinton.
<snip>
We now know that Trump sat on the news for weeks. He lied that he hadnt heard about it after he had been briefed. Undoubtedly, he thought it might blow over and he could retain Flynn. When he finally fired Flynn he did so because of lack of confidence in the man, not that his association with Russia or his lies bothered him.
Now think about that. Our national security adviser was working secretly with a hostile foreign nation.
Did Trump know? If not, why did Trump hesitate for weeks? Would many of Trumps workers have been in contact and coordination with Russia all summer if Trump hadnt known and approved? Why was candidate Trump so solicitous of this neo-Stalin? Why did Trump try to cover for Flynn? As they say, its all coming clear now. It looks like our new president is a willing dupe of Russia.
Extraordinary. This is not normal, Fox.
Is there a point when Fox and the Republican Party end politics-as-usual and become patriots? They both have bent, and bent again to normalize this strange man. Will any Republican stand up and become the hero who spoke out? Will the party of endless false investigations investigate this? Sen. Mitch McConnell wants to investigate this in the Intelligence Committee where deliberations are secret. Is that because an honest investigation might lock someone up? - The Daily Republic, Fairfield, CA

Juicy to say the least. Right in line with how I see it.
Lock them up. Lock them all up, that unpatriot too McConnell, for his part in this cover-up!
