Dear Caitlyn Jenner:

Suddenly (!!!) you are shocked and dismayed that Trump, A Fellow Republican (you proudly say), has LIED to you!!

Well, join the club, sister. You're no longer an old, white, republican male. Welcome to the other side. Or perhaps you would rather remove your make-up and go back to the boys club?

My apologies for being late to post this thread, since I just today heard her reply. And yes, my apologies to the transgender community. I don't think she is a phony, but I do think she is an idiot if she thinks republicans will ever accept you.

My heart goes out to all the kids who thought they could live equally in our country. We will keep fighting for all of you!!

That line also bugged me. I agree w/the condemnation of Jenner, but not anti-LGBT reductivism. (n/t) FreepFryer Feb 2017 #6

"Or perhaps you would rather remove your make-up and go back to the boys club? "

Is that how you think it works? "Oh, hey, I can just like totally detransition -- I mean, 'take off the make up' -- and things will be peachy keen and suddenly I regain some 'privilege' and all the problems just vanish!"

I'm not meaning to be attacking at all, but damn that reveals a horrible mindset. You might want to reconsider that, Tav. You're a couple of words from calling her a 'man in a dress', at which point you've joined the Republicans, not chastised Caitlyn.

Also, every politician lies (and yes, I do mean EVERY). Every person has to make their own journey to find the truth as it exists for them. Chiding someone because they didn't come to your side fast enough is bad strategy (and a negative outlook that is only going to poison your own reality, but that's neither here nor there).

But she's been transitioning for awhile now. I don't understand why she couldn't ask herself, "Who is more likely to appreciate and protect the needs of this special minority? The party that criticized and fought Obama's EO, including Trump's supporter (now AG) Sessions? Or the Democratic Party?"

I don't see the comment as reductivism, just questioning CJ's priorities and commitment to herself when she was so pro-trump before.

that there is more to being a woman than dressing up in Chanel outfits. I would have respected her more if she had pinned up her real hair, sans wigs, rolled up her sleeves and gone after the haters, instead of posing for photo shoots.

...based on all I've read from you. I agree with you insofar as there was (and still are) better ways she could go about doing something, although given her announced views she's not making a terrible use of her public fame (and those views amaze me, like yourself and many others, given that literally a third of Trump's most fervent followers would happily hang her simply for existing - and that's a VERY conservative estimate...so to speak).

Anywho, thanks for taking my post in the intended manner, I was hoping it didn't come across poorly.
