There's quite a bit of discord about this within the party. Progressives see Perez as same old-same old, myself included. Electing Perez further separates the entrenched establishment Democrats and the Progressives, who want to shake up the party and install leadership that takes the party forward.

I'm not an Ellison fan, but I'd have voted for anyone who is NOT the Establishment. I'm afraid for the future of our party. I see huge numbers of Dems fleeing to 3rd party candidates. Electing Perez is like handing our future to the Republicans because we'll be too busy fighting among ourselves.
