Let's all disentangle this mess together, shall we?

Well, we’re about a month into what was supposed to be a scorched earth dystopian nightmare by now. Remember all the horrible, horrifying things they told us would be happening by now if we refused to support their warmongering, primary-rigging corporate crony candidate? By now there were supposed to be 11 million undocumented immigrants deported immediately causing a full-scale civil war, Muslim Americans were supposed to be locked up in internment camps, and Trump was supposed to have deployed America’s nuclear arsenal in a fit of psychotic impulsiveness.

This is just a friendly reminder that none of that has come to pass. There’s a temporary travel ban on a few countries our government was already worried about, there’ve been some ICE raids but that’s nothing new, people are still free to post whatever vitriol they want on Trump’s Twitter feed, and America still hasn’t started any wars. I’ll be making these reminders periodically to assure all you starry-eyed progressive rebels out there that no matter what the talking heads on TV and the people who parrot them say, you are not crazy, and you did the right thing. I don’t know how many months or years will have to pass before Democratic party loyalists finally stop moving the goalposts, catastrophizing every tiny little thing that Trump does, and admit that they were wrong, but it doesn’t matter. We’ll know.

We’ll know that they would have rather had us vote for a woman with an extensive history of military blunders who was promising to shoot down Russian planes over Syria and provide “military responses” for alleged Russian “cyber attacks”. We’ll know that they would rather we vote for the guarantee of more rigged primaries installing more corporate crony right-wing Democrats if we somehow survived the conflict with Russia that Hillary was bound and determined to drag us into. We’ll know they would rather have had us vote for a woman who publicly praised the world-killing TPP dozens of times before taking up a “public position” pretending to oppose it when public opinion turned against it.

And now we’ve got them all acutely interested in government dynamics. How many of these Dem loyalists knew who the Secretary of Education was during the Obama administration? How much attention were they paying to Obama’s record-setting number of deportations? How much of a fuss did they make when Obama set restrictions on the same countries Trump is? Functionally zero. They’re being forced to learn about their own government, and its unelected manipulators, which can only be a good thing.

(more at link – and obviously, if you’ve cared all along, she isn’t talking about YOU – she means the DNC and the Hillbot supporters, so breath

By now there were supposed to be 11 million undocumented immigrants deported immediately causing a full-scale civil war,

Really, it took Hitler twelve years to fulfill his Final Solution and he didn't have a system of checks and balances to contend with. As it is Trump has prioritized deportations and likened it to a military operation. Hillary campaigned on a path to citizenship and would have done everything an executive could do to make it possible.

Muslim Americans were supposed to be locked up in internment camps,

Really, his ersatz Muslim ban which has been struck down by the courts wasn't enough for you?

and Trump was supposed to have deployed America’s nuclear arsenal in a fit of psychotic impulsiveness.

He told Morning Joe he was game for a new arms race. That's not enough for you.

Oh, Drumpf pulled the rug out from under trans kids. If one those precious kids gets hurt it's all on you, all on you... While I am thinking of that if any law abiding Muslims and Hispanics or those that get mistaken for them get hurt it's all on you.

"Father, forgive them, for they do not know what they are doing."

It was better for people to vote for the person who best represented liberal values than vote for the person who represented neoliberal values. That Hillary losing, in the long run could be the best thing for the Democratic party. That the party needs a new solid foundation to build upon.A foundation free from Wall Street and corporate money.A grass roots type of awakening that brings real change to America.

So it's a matter of risk taking,a gamble.I hope your right. I hope you can keep reminding us that the sky hasn't fallen.I believe Trump and Bannon are a lethal combination and they have the football.I was a Bernie supporter and voted for Hillary. I didn't think the risk was worth it.I'm not sure the fears were much different between Bernie and Hillary voters. I don't know if saying certain things have or haven't happened is a good argument. I do understand and respect your choice.Hillary lost and things are what they are, so now we fight together for the future.

Or at the very least, their mommies and daddies are rich.

Because they sure sound like people who think they have no real skin in this "game".

By knowingly selecting incompetent people to dismantle the government from within, they have guaranteed the failure of their plan. What makes them think their band of incompetents can successfully execute their mission when they suck at it in the first place?

The only reason they have not been able to make better progress is because they tipped their hand prematurely and jizzed the first week in with their ill executed travel ban. Alienating allies, career bureaucrats, intelligent agents, and military personnel in short order was the stupidest set of moves they could have made. Now that the story of their Russian coup is breaking open, they are going after the press.

I was fearful that first week. Now - not at all. No one of importance or influence is on their side. There is still some bad stuff coming, but they have overplayed their hand and cannot win. Call it hubris. Call it stupidity. But when you surround yourself with the incompetent, your plans will be incompetently executed.
