10. I grew up in Dallas

and one of the biggest churches back then (1970s) was the First Baptist Church of Downtown Dallas where W.A. Criswell was pastor. The place was a mega-church covering a good block and change in downtown Dallas, TX. Criswell was lauded for establishing "neighborhood churches" in poorer areas around Dallas. He said "Birds of a feather should flock together". What he meant, and what he was really being lauded for, was keeping black people out of the main sanctuary downtown.

My folks dragged me there for special occasions (we went to our own regular church but they had the big living christmas tree and other huge pageanty kind of things) and it was mighty white up in there.

But yeah. I suspect they secretly cry amongst themselves that they can't still do separate but equal (even though they don't really believe the equal part).
