I thought the state of the union was just a boring version of his stump speech.

Granted, I didn't watch it all. But the part I did, he wasn't saying anything, just regurgitating slogans and platitudes. And don't his supporters love the fact that he is random, aggressive and speaks off-the-cuff and without a teleprompter? His entire appeal is that he is not a politician and doesn't speak like one. And now he is just like the rest of them. Soon they will realize that he isn't doing any of the things he promised to do during the campaign.

- He can't build a wall because it is too expensive.

- He can't repeal and replace ACA because math and politics.

- He isn't going to bring down pharmaceutical prices with his amazing negotiation skills because he never really planned to go against big corporations and his negotiating skills are marginal.

- He can't get much in the way of immigration reform done because it's either unconstitutional, obviously a drag on the economy and/or it goes against a faction in his own party.

- He IS having good luck killing environmental regulations, but that won't actually make the jobs come back.

- He is being forced to dial back the racist, antisemitic dog whistles.

So at what point do the hardcore Trump supporters rebel? Because he IS becoming a politician, subject to all the same rules and complications that ALL politicians deal with: Negotiation, compromise, building alliances and hard work, day after day after day.... And he is a weak politician who has a large and highly motivated grassroots opposition brewing and few real friends, even in his own party.

His supporters hate weakness and do not understand how politics works. They loved bully Trump, salesman Trump and entertainer Trump. What will they do not that he is shedding those personas and becoming politician Trump?

Last night's was NOT 'State of the Union,' as he's only been in office for a few weeks. State of the Union comes later.
