Well, well, well I learned something new about Sean Spicers wife today!

https://www.medicalmarijuana.com/conflict-of-interest-much-sean-spicers-wife-has-huge-ties-to-the-beer-industry/

snip:
Donald Trump’s choice for his mouthpiece as White House press secretary and communications director was the hot-headed Sean Spicer, who ruffled just a few feathers last week when he said Americans will see “greater enforcement” of federal law on recreational marijuana.

Spicer’s choice for marriage in 2004 was the booze-lauding Rebecca Spicer. Rebecca Spicer has been the senior vice president of communications & public affairs for the National Beer Wholesalers Association (NBWA) since 2007. The NBWA “represents the interests of America’s 3,300 licensed, independent beer distributors.” snip:

No wonder he was so happy to boast about how the new administration wants to step back up to cracking down on weed. Can't have people using a plant that has killed NO ONE! Even though we are well aware of the health effects of beer.

I am not a beer drinker myself, but I have no problem with folks drinking it (as long as they don't do things like drive while drinking!). I have used cannabis for many years for many reasons, but I don't think we should stop the sale of alcohol.

I thought this was a capitalistic society where everyone could buy and sell freely. This is just stupid. When I worked at the local day care and our enrollment was down, we didn't burn down the other day cares in the neighborhood to get their kids to come to ours.

There are sooooo many conflicts of interest with this administration. I don't think anyone is there for just "We, the people" anymore.

1. With this administration, you cannot turn around without running into a conflict of interest!

2. And furthermore

Repubs are always all about leaving issues up to the individual states. Why aren't they applying that policy to marijuana? Hmmm.

It's not an either-or situation.

10. Interesting. OThanks for sharing this.

It does put some perspective on things.. Here in CO, after legal recreational use passed, Gov. Hickenlooper was against it. Of course, he's a long time pub owner distributing the legal high. He's learned to live with it. Guess it hasn't hurt beer sales all that much. Mrs. Spicey should look into that.

11. I don't think craft beer and weed are in competition for money.

Now if it were cigarettes, that would be a different story.

14. Yes it is

You can overdose on it. If addicted to it, you can die from withdrawal. It causes permanent neurological damage if exposed to it neonatally. It is a contributing factor, not a cause, in domestic violence and child abuse/neglect. It is a contributing factor in vehicle related deaths and injuries. Yet, it's legal and pot isn't. Go figure.

13. The anti-weed coalition is the unlikely marriage of

- the alcohol industry
- big Pharma
- private prisons and their guards unions.
- police unions

if you think about it it is easy to understand why.

15. Some folks just need to get all the money, even when they already have enough.

That type of greed is making life difficult for many people. In many areas.
