So, no. I appreciate that he defeated Diaper Dave, but no way in hell would I (or most other liberals) vote for someone who does not whole-heartedly support women's reproductive rights.

I did not like HC vp Kaine saying that he was personally against abortion but would uphold the law. What would happen if someone like that were in a position to change the law? Would they uphold it, or would they say that they just felt they could not vote for it?

Nope, don't want to go down that road.

There are plenty of things I personally disagree with but strongly support being legal.

But I respect you position.

So it's fine that you respect other positions that you don't agree with. When a politician does the same, am I just supposed to "trust" that the polictician won't take the opportunity to change a law that they fundamentally disagree with?

That's why for me, it's a deal breaker. I get to make that decision.

And Kaine's voting record gets an A from Planned Parenthood and NARAL.

I don't care what he "thinks" about the moral implications, any more than I care what MADD members "think" about alcohol.

MADD (nor any recovering alcoholic I have heard talk) members don't support the repeal of the 21st amendment, because like those who are pro-choice, they know that things will get worse under criminalization.
