Too frightening to be funny

This link is to a column by William Rivers Pitt. It's a reminder that the Wile E. Coyote shenanigans of the Republicans since Donald Trump's inauguration actually hide the true dangers of their inherent evilness.

http://www.truth-out.org/opinion/item/39919-when-it-comes-to-trump-we-should-be-too-petrified-to-laugh

Mr. Pitt's takedown of the president is written with scathing humor, (emphasis is mine):

All of this, of course, is trickling down from the First Federated Font of Nonsense otherwise known as the president of the United States. Conway, Stone and the rest of the White House pack may find a jewel of foolishness now and again, but only Trump has the awesome capacity to be ridiculous, embarrassing, insulting, tawdry, orange, dangerous and wrong simultaneously and with astonishing consistency.

But the fearful side of the Trump Administration is what diminishes any humorous observations. Regarding Mr. Trump and his advisors, Mr. Pitt writes:

What do they find funny? I fear I know the answer to that all too well. They thoroughly enjoyed the look of horror on people's faces when the White House budget was revealed last week. The dismay of poor and working-class people, people of color, environmentalists, educators, artists, activists and, frankly, most Americans at the priorities put forth in that document is music to our supposed leaders' ears. It is all part of what passes for bedrock conservative ideology these days: "Make the liberals angry." That is all they have: cruelty for cruelty's sake.

Our nation has some "pretty bad hombres" in the White House, in both Houses of Congress and in the Supreme Court. For the moment, those disparate and nefarious forces don't seem able to work together as evidenced by the collapse of the Republican's health care bill. While I do feel a sense of joyous relief at the failure of the draconian AHCA, it's sobering to remember that it failed, in part, because Speaker Ryan couldn't get the support of the Freedom Caucus as the bill wasn't draconian enough!

And you are totally right, the serfs and barons model of society is what they are trying their best to implement, along with the destruction of the middle class.

The Freedom Caucus buys, like some other republicans, totally into the philosophy of Ayn Rand. As in selfishness is good, it's all about you and empathy is for losers.

Sick, sick stuff. Enabled in part by well intentioned fools.

People need to get out and vote while we still can.

The keep Grandma alive crowd may not liberal but they are madder than hell and are calling out their tormentors. Last time the same people were willing to dump their own interest on the idea the guy working details had dark skin and that some loon suggested to them there might be death panels. The next generation of politicians might want to focus on staying alive, it works for health care, the economy, and security. Those putting up the money want a fair return and in spite of distraction have much in common.

No mental health,No prescriptions,No rehabiliation,No prenatal,No emergency room. What they are saying is no coverage and many people dying at hospital doors.

I watched as some of his supporters who were angry and wanted it to pass. Some of them don't realize where they work is dependent on these services, they have family members who will be affected, the hate for poor, sick and elderly is strong!
