In recent years the supreme court made two decisions that directly attacked and damaged our election process. Citizens United and they gutted the voting rights act. The people have lost a lot of their power.
In recent years many republican voters, out of sheer spite and ignorance elected dozens of far right anti government extremists. Tea party. They have shut down our government and damaged our democratic process. They abuse the constitution. They wield
their version of the constitution like a sword. It's their way or the highway. That's not democracy.
The republicans in the house are blocking a investigation into a attack on our election from a foreign enemy. This is a dereliction of duty. They are breaking their oath of office.
The moment trump was elected the office of the president was compromised. At this moment it is not possible to measure the amount of damage being done to the office of the president. Needless to say, it could be severe and long lasting.
To sum it up, All three branches of our government have attacked and damaged our election process, democratic process and our constitution. If that is not a constitutional crisis i don't know what is.
The reasons for all this happening are complex. One main reason is the republican party moved to the extreme far right. The extreme far right by it's very nature is anti-democracy. They are antigovernment. They are propagandists, liars and racists. They do not believe in WE THE PEOPLE. They believe in their version of america, period. If you disagree with their view of america they call you unamerican.
