Many folks have weighed in on the dangers of erecting a wall in the middle of Big Bend National Park, a site where very few illegal immigrants cross due to the rugged mountains. But what about the rest of the Texas/Mexican border? Land that is mostly privately owned by ranchers. Land that includes the Rio Grande River. The Rio Grand defines the Texas/Mexico border. It IS the border. Trump officials have indicated that in Texas, the wall will be built up to a mile away from the river---begging two questions. One, how will ranchers and farmers get water from the Rio Grande once it is federally owned? And two, who will own all that water?

(111,255 posts)so he has no clue about the deserts, mountains, and big ass river along it. He thinks it all looks like San Diego and Brownsville. Yes, he's just that much of a fucking idiot.
Either border ranchers won't be able to water their stock or irrigate their fields or there will be a water war with Mexico.
All Fuckwad thinks is that he'll be counting his cash.

(19,240 posts)Water priorities---cities versus farms/ranches versus industry are a huge issue in Texas where there is typically more demand than there is water. Here is an article about how Dow used its political clout to gain control of the Brazos River. Does Dow want to use Trump and his wall to gain control of the Rio Grande?

(10,749 posts)Before Mexico cedes the river to the us. The wall as promised will never be built. Which if not to say 45 cronies will not get rich. Plans, lawsuits, and the like.
