Geo. "Debate Books" WILL said nobody is getting that ROBERTS is simply a Libertarian
That he will (not "revert"
but fold right back into the wingnut side on future cases but when individual liberties (Libertarianism) issues come up, he'll be voting for the "Liberal" side, marriage equality, etc., because he's actually a LIBERTARIAN!1
My own take is that he and KENNEDY made a deal to perform a tandem stranglehold on both sides of the writing:
That ROBERTS would take the heat off of KENNEDY as the #5 vote,
that KENNEDY would write a dissent that went ALL THE WAY further saying the WHOLE law was unconstitutional, and
that ROBERTS could take the main message away from the 4 Libs by writing the main decision with his own spin on top of the Libs’ versions.
That way, KENNEDY and ROBERTS, both of them together, had control over both sides of the written decisions.
EXPLANATION of the "debate books" thing: Al GORE's honorable team were dirty tricked by somebody's sending them Shrub's debate books, and the GORE team promptly, honorably went public and sent them back unopened. George WILL working for RAYGUN got the CARTER debate books but DID put them to use for debates preparation, allegedly.
