Trump literally doesn't know what the word "regret" means.

"I don’t regret anything, because there is nothing you can do about it," the president said when asked during an interview with the Financial Times if he regrets any of his tweets.

Of course, you can do something about things you regret (you can apologize, you can try to make amends). And of course, for most of us, it's still possible to regret things you can't do anything about. But what he seems to be saying here is, you can't undo the fact that it happened, which is true enough. But how that's a rationale for not regretting it is bizarre.

So he thinks you can't regret something if it's already happened. And obviously, you can't regret something if it hasn't happened. Which means, according to Trump, it's impossible to ever regret anything.

He might not know what it means, being less than self-aware, but I believe he knows the sting of fucking up and of people knowing he's fucked up.

He just doesn't dare unpack that feeling, or if he does, he doesn't dare admit it. Much simpler to deny ever having made a mistake than to begin analyzing his actions.

He doesn't want to think about it, and he's been able to live a life of denial this entire time. Any bad things or fuckups in his life have been covered up with either Daddy's money and now his own. He can huff and puff and pretend his way out of it, and make himself feel better, no matter what.

The worst example of a spoiled trust fund brat. Being a malignant narcissist just adds that extra-special level of "WTF" craziness to his behavior.

All I can come up with is the original series' "The Squire of Gothos."
