Has there ever been a cover-up in real-time that was any more obvious than Trump with Russia?

Usually, the cover-up isn't really uncovered until after the fact. The tapes in Watergate had long since been filled by the time the House committee started considering the evidence.

Ever since November, we've all just witness the Trump team stumble and bumble all over itself to try to make the story go away. Thankfully it hasn't worked. If anything they've made it worse for themselves. But gosh-darn it, they're just gonna doing it anyways.

They've thrown out unsubstantiated red herrings to try to distract from the story ("Leaks", Obama "wiretapping", Susan Rice "unmasking&quot . They've actually managed to cross the separation of powers and ensnare the head of the House Intelligence Committee as a participant in their scheme. They've forced people out of the administration when it becomes too much of a liability, and managed to both try to blame them and cast them as victims at the same time.

All this is playing out in real time, in front of our own eyes. They really think we won't care.

Well, we do notice. And we do care.

And the story is not going away.

...by the fall of 1897, it was obvious to the whole world that Dreyfus was innocent, and Esterhazy guilty. The French general Staff, and the French Right in general, spent the next two years denying it with all their might, even though they all *knew* the truth. Imagine a Victorian Fox News on steroids...they almost brought France to the brink of civil war, just to keep a cover-up going that they all knew was a lie...

What is this man in make-up covering up? Was he born a clown, and is trying to appear normal?

It's almost the "right under our noses" aspect of this that is so confounding! All of Rachel's fabulous investigation and reporting is from articles that were right out there in the press! She and her team are merely connecting the dots!

And not just the cover up, but the crimes themselves! All related to trumps connections with and financing by Russian mobsters. Which is why he wouldn't release his taxes..though why he would list this there stymies me. Perhaps it's what they DON'T say.

Republicans should have taken some responsibility for vetting him, even if the crazies in their party wanted him.

If they were able to actually cover up anything, we wouldn't be able to watch them as they fail so miserably at it. We wouldn't know about it. I'm guessing they believe we are all as stupid as they and their cult followers are. They are like the 3-year-old who gets caught with his hand in the cookie jar, and denies it, even though he has chocolate chips smeared all over him.
