and, when der drumpfenfuhrer declares trump state empire, it won't matter.

Florida and Georgia are trending less conservative because of growth areas in those states, so is North Carolina. Orange County in Florida used to be very red, but since that region began growing in the seventies, it has become more progressive and now is one of the areas of Florida where Democrats count on lots of votes in statewide races.

And about 25 gerrymandered districts went for Hillary...so we have a shot.

Or possibly even do it by legislation (if they go nuclear on legislation too). I can easily see this happening during the lame duck period between election and turnover.

Undo their rules tampering and lock the door behind them. They can (and probably will) do it as soon as the writing is on the wall

the only thing they got was advice and consent for cabinet appointees...and that may fall as it heads to state's highest court which has a 4/3 progressive majority. The gerrymander in North Carolina should be gone by 18.

Several of my relatives didn't vote in my state's primary and some didn't vote at all, eventhough they hate Trump and republicans. I prefer educating that type of voter instead of wasting time trying to satisfy the demands of the purity assholes that blew the last election, 2014, 2010, 2004, 2002, 2000, 1998, 1996, 1994 (basically, fuck them because they pepetually fuck progress).

And Sessions and GOP legislators will gut voting rights as best they can. They will only investigate interference if the interference appears to support the opposition. If the democrats do not retake the House , or even less likely the Senate, in 2018 I do not think America can recover.

Actually, as horrible as Gorsuch is, I still believe he is qualified. If moderate Merrick Garland had been confirmed, and this seat not stolen, and we had a typical Republican President, I would not have felt the way I do. The GOP has been emboldened to rule at will and I think they will try their best to twist arms and get the legislature to march in lock step to approve whatever policy their bankrolling megadonors demand. Many are already running away from their constituents because quite frankly they know they do not need to worry so much about the voting public as long as they get the necessary money and inside information to use against any opponent.

It took the worst president in US history (Bush II) and his repuke cronies 6-7 years to wreck things, but now I'm expecting something far worse in less than half that time. Massive foreign policy mistakes and another Great Depression are what its going to take to wake up the brainwashed zombies that put these scumbags in power.

The day they lose the senate, I can just imagine them convening in an emergency session to reinstate the filibuster, unless there's something that prevents that.

oh, well I guess that's moot, since there is certainly precedent to erase it again. Maybe not then.
