It would have been insane not to have warned the Russians.

Imagine if we killed hundreds of them. The USSR/Russia has been our adversary for much of the last seventy years and we have managed to militarily engage them through proxies without directly killing any of their soldiers.

The fallout from massive Russian casualties is incalculable.

All I know is even Putin is susceptible to domestic opinion. If Trump killed hundreds of Russians Putin would have been forced to act.

or that it tends to be the norm. Maybe that's just the press covering for Trump.

I do think that we usually let our close allies know so they can plan accordingly. Someone in Congress should have been told - I think that's how this is normally done.

So Hundreds of Russian soldiers were at the site that the chemical weapons assault originated from? Who launched the chemical weapons again? The Syrians or the Russians?

The Syrians launched the attacks but the Russians are interspersed among them and the Russians have/had personnel on the base we hit.

I don't want to kill any Russians and we couldn't know for sure if any were at the bombed air base.

That's insane.

And if Russians are helping bomb civilians with chemical weapons, they need to be held accountable.

I'm going to complain about it anyway because I think the whole thing was a political charade.

And I fucking hate Trump.
