The are taking final vote now on Gorsuch

Am I missing something? He was gonna get in anyway, now all we have to do is take back senate in 2018 and we can block any of he Pinko Commie's (or his repuke successor's) picks with 51, should there be any?

There aren't many red seats up in 2018 (and most are considered pretty safe)... while we have several vulnerable states to defend.

Prior to Trump's ridiculously low popularity, there was even talk of Republicans potentially hitting the filibuster-proof 60-seat level. Now that's far less likely, but it will be a victory if we avoid losing seats.

Just as importantly, there will almost certainly be another court pick before the 2018 election. Kennedy might retire this summer, but will almost certainly do so by next summer.
