I was hoping Morning Joe would be kind of enjoyable, but alas, Luke Russert is the stand-in. Fortunately they paired him with Alex Wagner...she's at least quite watchable.

(31,464 posts)Even better.
However, how can I sit and watch news and politics in the morning, while I sip my coffee, with my remote? Switch to CNN or Fox? Today Show? GMA? Seriously?
Oh, I bet you meant "turn off the tv." Nah. Not for an hour or two, or when they start repeating segments.
Morning Joe can actually be a pretty decent program, and offers a bit of balance to MSNBC's liberal prime time line-up. More than one perspective isn't a bad thing.

(63,912 posts)That show made me realize how weak Mika and Joe's show really is. MJ doesn't have the intellectual firepower that Hayes show does, it doesn't have the fresh minds and faces, and there are too many men and not enough women. I'm sorry, but one woman (Mika) doesn't cut it. The men are too loud and overblown and in love with their own voices.

(31,464 posts)They're too good for regular tv. They SHOULD be on every day, especially Hayes. They both destroy any other so-called news shows on television. I always feel I've learned something after Hayes' show. It's probably a bit much to throw at most Americans while they're trying to get ready for work.

I think MJ must soon get rid of Barnicle and Rendell and few other mossbacks. They are just drags on the show.
I very much enjoyed Jonathan Capehart today. He said what I would have said...I loved how he pointed out that he had no idea of what Romney's health care plan was. Insufferable Halperin outlined it broadly and it included the Ryan budget stuff. Then Alex said the details of that budget would be the death knell for any Romney "plan." It was a good exchange...

(37,648 posts)the Republican....those are the ones carrying the show. Thank goodness.
The woman seems more concerned about holding her head right so her hair looks good, than contributing to the conversation or asking good questions.
And the kid Russert...well, what can I say, except he's not seasoned enough to be worth anything.

(63,912 posts)3rd way idiot, David Walker who was babbling about "shared sacrifice" (read: tax the poor and further devastate the middle class). She brought up the widening gulf of inequality in our society today. Walker is worse than useless. MJ should get rid of him. He's a fraud.

(22,142 posts)They seem so stale and I was sick of Joe talking about his experience in Congress from 20 years ago. I do watch Martin Bashir, Hardball and Rev. Al.
